Summer School on Earthquake and Tsunami Science at UGM 2025

We held a summer school on earthquake and tsunami disaster science during the Annual Meeting 2025 of the Mexican Geophysical Union (UGM), held in Puerto Vallarta from October 26 to 31. Professor Yoshihiro Ito, together with six research collaborators from Mexico, delivered lectures to approximately 15 participants. The program introduced the role of iLETs in earthquake and tsunami disaster risk reduction, as well as key topics including seafloor seismic observations, tsunami modeling methods, ground motion analysis techniques, seismic wave modeling, and preparedness strategies for earthquake and tsunami hazards.

We also set up an exhibition booth at the venue, where we showcased Kyoto University and introduced the activities of iLETs to participants and visitors.
